Celebrate the Season of Giving at the Woodmark

It’s a Wonderful Woodmark Offers a Month Full of Events to Bring Holiday Cheer

Kirkland, Wash. — (November 16, 2012) — The Woodmark Hotel, Yacht Club & Spa, located on the shores of Lake Washington just 15 minutes east of Seattle and the only Seattle-area lakefront lodging, is excited to announce its “It’s a Wonderful Woodmark” holiday season. The month-long festivity kicks off with a tree lighting celebration and features happy hours and live music, a Santa Tea, specially created holiday meals, photos with live reindeer and much more.

“We are so excited to share the holiday fun with our guests and community,” said John Murphy, general manager of Woodmark. “It’s a Wonderful Woodmark give us the chance to spend the holidays with friends and help families build new traditions at The Woodmark.”

Highlighted events for It’s a Wonderful Woodmark 2012 include:

  • Carillon Point Tree Lighting – Sunday, November 25 from 4 to 6 p.m.
    Visit the Carillon Point Plaza to welcome the holiday season with the lighting of the 18-foot tall Christmas tree. Dickens Carolers and reindeer will be joining the event to spread the cheer and visitors are invited to warm up with a Roast & Toast featuring the Woodmark’s fire pit, s’mores, hot chocolate and coffee. City of Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride will be emceeing the event and leading a holiday story reading
  • Santa Paws – Saturday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Grab Fido and head over to the Woodmark’s library for photos with Santa, hot chocolate and cider and special holiday sugar cookies for two and four-legged friends. Cost: suggested minimum donation of $20, benefiting the Seattle Humane Society.
  • Ho Ho Happy Hour – Wednesdays (December 5, 12, 19 and 26) from 4 to 6 p.m.
    Stop by the Woodmark’s Living Room Bar to listen to jazzy live music and enjoy rotating seasonal cocktails along with the happy hour menu.
  • Fourth Annual Santa Tea – Sunday, December 9 from 1 to 3 p.m.
    Guests and the community are invited to the 4th annual Santa Tea featuring a holiday jazz trio from Kirkland Performance Center, tasty treats and holiday sweets, an assortment of teas and hot cocoa, cookie decorating for children and photos with Santa. Cost: $45 per adult and $20 for children ages 12 and younger. Purchase tickets in advance at
  • Argosy Christmas Cruise – Friday, December 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
    Watch the awe-inspiring Christmas cruise ships from one of the Woodmark’s exceptional viewing spots. Bin on the lake will offer reserved preferred seating along the windows and cozy up outside for the Roast & Toast featuring the Woodmark’s fire pit, s’mores, hot chocolate and coffee.
  • Christmas Eve at Beach Café and bin on the lake – Monday, December 24
    Gather family and friends and enjoy a traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes at bin on the lake on Christmas Eve or celebrate the season at Beach Café with specially created menus.
  • Christmas Day at Beach Café and bin on the lake – Tuesday, December 25
    Spend Christmas Day at bin on the lake or Beach Café and indulge in expertly crafted Pacific Northwest fare.
  • New Year’s Eve Celebration – Monday, December 31
    Visit bin on the lake or Beach Café for dinner to ring in the New Year then head to Beach Café at 9 p.m. to watch the Big Apple Ball Drop with champagne toasts.
  • New Year’s Day at Beach Café – Tuesday, January 1
    Recover with Beach Café’s “You Look Like You Need This” menu featuring a Bloody Mary bar and Hair of the Dog specialty drinks.
