Looking at Lake Washington from a dock in Kirkland, Washington

Small Town Shopping in Kirkland, Washington

Seattle may be home to some of the region’s best shopping, including the original locations of Seattle-born giants like Nordstrom and REI, but in nearby Kirkland the shopping experience is unlike any other with an array of charming, hyper-local boutiques overlooking the scenic shores of Lake Washington.

Tucked between regionally inspired restaurants and entertainment venues, here are eight of our favorite shops to explore within walking distance of The Woodmark:

Opened in 2015 in the heart of Kirkland’s waterfront shopping district, Essentials on Park Lane features luxurious women’s basics and beyond. Among stylish brands like BB Dakota, Free People, James Perse, and LA Made, you will find flowing dresses, sleek outwear, designer denim, crossbody bags, wedges, and of course, the best in essentials.

Asher Goods

15 Lake Street #201

Just a few steps away from the beautiful Marina Park, Asher Goods beckons with eye-catching heritage and American-made men’s clothing and goods. The flagship Kirkland store carries flannel shirts, jackets, men’s and women’s boots, and light outdoor gear like flashlights, knives, and YETI tumblers perfect for your excursions in the Pacific Northwest. (You can also find a unique, copper-plated mini keg.) They have a second location in Redmond.

Brimming with shelves of new and gently used books, BookTree is a beloved independent bookstore just a few blocks from Heritage Park. As you might expect, a sculptural “tree” of books stands inside the Eastside shop. Beyond being a bookstore, the space is also a place for the community to gather and engage in discussions of the literary arts with special author events, workshops, and readings on a regular basis.

Pick up an Éminence Cranberry Pomegranate Sugar Scrub to nourish and smooth skin this winter, or grab a Shea Butter & Mint Moisture Balm packed with vitamins and minerals. And before or after you shop, you can indulge in seasonal massages and facials.

140 Park Lane

Step inside this elegant boutique on Park Lane for a champagne brunch or trunk show, then explore the racks of beautiful women’s clothing, fragrances, and jewelry. Hepburn’s artistic space showcases stylish sweaters, floral scarves, makeup bags, beaded earrings, and more atop reclaimed furniture and interspersed with touches of greenery.
